Free Tech Classes at Your Local Apple Store
Apple recently announced a new program called "Today at Apple" offering free tech classes at local Apple Stores. My first thought was that surely our store in Anchorage, AK would be excluded but lo and behold I was pleasantly surprised to see a wide variety of classes offered at our store in the 5th Avenue Mall. These free courses help you to get the most out of your Apple products with options for both adults and kids. Head on over to https://www.apple.com/today to check out the courses in your area.
Several of these classes stand out as ones we just HAVE to check out to include:
Kids Programming with the Sphero Sprk - This was offered last weekend and will hopefully come up again where kiddos can learn to program using their own (or a borrowed) iPad. Here, they'll program a Sphero Sprk robot (available on Amazon) to run a maze.
Getting Started with Programming - Coming up on May 30, kids aged 12+ can learn how to program using Swift Playgrounds, an iPad app aimed at making programming interactive and fun.
Creativity with GarageBand - Using record, edit, and mix music using Apple's GarageBand app for the iPad. For this, they have classes geared toward teachers and children as well.
They also include course offerings ranging from basic iPhone to more advanced photo editing along with iPad and Apple product overviews for applications like Numbers and Keynote. This looks like an excellent learning resource, one we'll be certain to check out!!!
